Replacement of Conveyor Parts

Today we shall discuss some common site observations, if you found condition like these you can approach your client to replace that system or part.
Replacement of Conveyor Parts:
Chain and belt should be replaced when:
1. The chain has been extended so much that it does not fit the drive sprocket.
2. The chain is worn below half the plate thickness.
3. The chain surface is worn unevenly.
4. The bottom parts of the chain is worn so much that the pins are laid bare. The pins can thendamage the wearstrips and other conveyor parts.
5. Tab or belt edge is worn on sideflexing belts.
Sprockets should be replaced when:
1. The tooth profiles are worn
2. The chain jumps the sprocket
Wearstrips should be replaced when:
1. They are worn 50%
2. The surface finish has become rough
3. Hard particles have become embedded into the wearstrip material

- Special care must be taken to inspect curved wearstrip sections for wear, since excessive wear can result in the chain pulling out of the conveyor in curves.
